I was first elected to the State House of Representatives in 2008, rising to the position of Caucus Chair. Soon after the start of the 2017 session, our 7th District Senator resigned and I was appointed to serve as the new Senator. I then handily won my election in 2017. I currently serve as the Ranking Minority Member of the Local Government Committee. I continue to be a leader in fighting against unnecessary and burdensome agency rules and regulations that undermine individual rights and our economic prosperity.
I have a special connection with the people of my district. Not only have I served the people of the 7th District for the past 23 years, it is where I and my husband Mitch chose to raise our family.
Before being elected to office, I ran district offices for former Congressman George Nethercutt, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and Representative Joel Kretz. Prior to that, I was a paralegal for 10 years.
My focus has been, and will continue to be, to fight for our conservative values, our liberties, our way of life and to stand against government when it stands in the way of our prosperity and the prosperity of our children! People matter, our families matter, our small businesses and communities matter.
There is no greater priority to me than promoting local jobs, getting folks back to work and protecting the foundation of the 7th District - from managing our natural resources and wildlife to local healthcare, from student centered education to access to water. I've built relationships, educated legislators and challenged the status quo in order to be a more effective leader for the 7th District.
As your Senator, I will continue to use my experience to fight for you. I would be honored to have your support and I ask for your vote!
